Questions people ask
Are the documents legally binding?+
Yes — documents created with Quill are real legal documents. When properly completed and signed, they are as binding as any contract. Some documents (like wills and powers of attorney) have special execution requirements such as witnesses or notarization; Quill tells you exactly what's needed for each one.
Are the e-signatures valid?+
Electronic signatures collected through Quill comply with the U.S. ESIGN Act and UETA: each signer consents to sign electronically and we record a full audit trail (identity email, timestamp, IP address) in a certificate attached to the executed PDF. Note that a few document types — like wills — must still be signed on paper with witnesses.
Is Quill a law firm?+
No. Quill is self-help software, not a law firm, and doesn't provide legal advice. For complex or high-stakes situations, have a licensed attorney in your state review your document.
How is my data handled?+
Your documents are private to your account, encrypted in transit, never sold, and never used to train AI models. You can delete any document — or your whole account — at any time.
What happens when the launch period ends?+
Documents you've already created remain yours and stay accessible. We'll give clear notice before any billing starts — no surprise charges, ever.
